The National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW) is a not-for-profit advocacy organization focused on enhancing the quality of life for African American women and girls and supporting the broader Black community. The Oakland Bay Area Chapter advances this mission through educational initiatives, programs targeted at girls and women, and a range of scholarship opportunities.
Scholarship details — Oakland Bay Area Chapter (OBAC)
- The OBAC awards financial assistance to female students from Bay Area schools who are enrolled in four-year universities, junior colleges, community colleges, or vocational/trade programs.
- Applications are welcome from both undergraduate and graduate applicants who completed high school in the Bay Area.
- The Chapter also provides scholarships specifically for employed women who are attending a college, university, or other post-secondary institution; preference is given to those pursuing their first degree.
Main Street Launch (MSL) scholarships
- Main Street Launch offers scholarships to both male and female high school students who have been accepted to college, as well as to current college students enrolled at a state college or university, provided they are pursuing careers in entrepreneurship.
