COSA Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Confederation of Oregon School Administrators
Each year the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators (COSA) either sponsors or helps administer five one-time college scholarships of $1,000 each for Oregon high school seniors. These awards are available to students planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university, a trade school, or a professional/technical program. One application covers all COSA scholarship opportunities for which you qualify.
Available awards (five total; $1,000 each)
- Two scholarships funded by the COSA / California Casualty partnership — open to graduating seniors who meet the eligibility standards below.
- One scholarship from OALA (Oregon Association of Latino Administrators) — awarded to a deserving Latinx student who meets the criteria.
- Two scholarships from NWEA (Northwest Women in Educational Administration) — for young women planning to enter the field of education and who meet the eligibility requirements.
Eligibility
- Current student enrolled in an Oregon public high school.
- Intend to enroll in a 2- or 4-year college/university, trade school, or professional/technical program in the fall term immediately following high school graduation. You must name the institution and indicate your planned field of study.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher as of the most recently posted grading period.
Application timeline
- Complete application and upload all required attachments by 11:59 PM on March 2, 2026.
- Selections will be made by the COSA Scholarship Committee.
- Recipients will be notified by May 1, 2026, at the latest.
- COSA will issue scholarship payment directly to each recipient after receiving proof of course registration.
What you must submit (PDF format where indicated)
1. Most recent transcript (PDF).
2. Letter of recommendation from a current COSA member (PDF). Acceptable COSA members include principals, assistant principals, central office administrators, or superintendents.
3. About 30 minutes to complete the application questions and short-answer prompts, including:
- School and community involvement (student activities, leadership roles, community service, non-school activities or employment).
- If personal or family circumstances have limited your ability to participate in community or work activities, an explanation is allowed.
4. A personal statement (under 300 words) responding to one or two of the following prompts:
- How has your family background shaped your perspective on life?
- Who has been the biggest influence in your life, and why?
- What are some of your short-term and long-term goals?
Notes
- These scholarships are one-time awards.
- If you meet the eligibility criteria for multiple COSA scholarships, a single application will be considered for all applicable awards.
